Basic Community Standards for Shanty Towns:
*
*
- Don’t Park Your Shopping Cart in the Driveway – It diminishes the value of your entire Shanty Town.
*
*
- Use The Latrine – Indiscriminate elimination is not only aesthetically displeasing, it is also potentially harmful to human health. Failure to corral your Shanty Town fecal waste could result in contamination of the drainage ditch the Shanty Town uses for drinking water.
*
*
- Enforce Zoning – Lax zoning often results in a distasteful overlap of Commercial and Residential areas within Shanty Towns. Burning insulation by Wire Developers, random stockpiles of copper & other metal piping by Unoccupied Home Salvagers, piles of loose beverage containers cached by Aluminum Brokers – these and other activities should be restricted to commercial areas.
*
*
- Pick-up Syringes – Nothing taints your Quasi-Municipality’s image faster than a syringe-strewn landscape. Moreover, subsequent interdiction by State Health Officials could actually imperil your community’s existence.
*
*

*
- Remove All Dog Carcasses – Lingering carcasses adversely impact the Shanty Town environment in numerous ways. They attract carrion, pestilence and predators. They are unattractive visually and typically exude a foul stench. Unattended small children happening upon them may be tempted to nibble, resulting in a tummy ache and overall discomfort afterward.
